Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our guided river valley hikes for active seniors
Absolutely. The Venta Waterfall Classic Trail is specifically designed for comfortable pacing with multiple rest points overlooking the waterfall. We limit groups to 8 people maximum, and our guides are trained to adjust speed based on your fitness level. Most participants tell us it's challenging in the best way—rewarding without being exhausting.
The Venta Waterfall trail takes about 3–4 hours including stops, while the Kuldīga Brick Bridge Heritage Walk is 2–3 hours. We're not rushing to check off a checklist—we stop frequently to rest, take photos, and soak in the history.
Wear sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes with good ankle support—this makes the biggest difference on uneven terrain. Bring a light jacket, water bottle (we recommend 1.5–2 liters), and a small snack. Weather in Latvia changes quickly, so layers are your friend. We provide a detailed packing list when you book.
Many of our participants manage arthritis or past knee injuries. The key is proper footwear and knowing your limits—which is why we have detailed conversations before each hike. The River Valley Wellness Walks are our gentlest option with minimal elevation change. Let us know about your concerns when booking, and we'll match you with the right trail and guide.
Your booking includes the guided hike, a knowledgeable local guide, and access to cultural insights about the landmarks. We don't charge hidden fees—what we quote is what you pay. Some guides offer optional historical walks in nearby villages for an extra fee, but it's completely up to you.
Yes. Private group hikes are one of our most popular options. We customize the pace, route variations, and timing to suit your group. Get in touch with us to discuss dates and group size—we'll work out the details together.
